Oakridge MUN XVI  ·  Day 1 Evening

The
Networking
Hour.

A space beyond resolutions and gavels, where delegates step out of their committees and into conversation with the causes that matter most in the world today.

What is Networking Hour?

More than a
conversation.

Networking Hour was designed with a clear question in mind: what if a MUN conference did more than prepare students to debate, and actually connected them to the work being done in the world right now?

Networking Hour is Oakridge MUN's answer to that question. Every year, on the evening of Day 1, delegates step out of their committee rooms and into an open forum where NGOs, student-led initiatives, and social enterprises set up and share the causes they're fighting for.

It's not a seminar. It's not a pitch session. It's a room full of people who care, and an open invitation to find out if you do too.

🌏
Social Responsibility
Networking Hour brings awareness about causes that exist beyond the conference hall, including environmental, humanitarian, and educational initiatives run by people your age and older.
🤝
Genuine Connection
No agendas, no formal debate. Just delegates and change-makers in the same room, building the kind of networks that last well beyond three days.
🌱
Growth Beyond the Conference
Whether you volunteer, sign up, or simply learn, Networking Hour is where the conference becomes a launchpad and not just another event on your CV.

Meet the Change-Makers.

Networking Hour brings together organisations and initiatives across three core categories, each with real opportunities to get involved.

01
NGOs & Non-Profits
Established non-governmental organisations working across issues like child welfare, education access, climate action, and healthcare. They share what they do and how you can contribute.
↗ Volunteer Opportunities
02
Student-Led Initiatives
Clubs, drives, and movements founded by students just like you, proving that impact doesn't wait for a degree. Get inspired, get involved, or get ideas for your own school.
↗ Peer-Led Impact
03
Fundraisers & Drives
Active campaigns raising money or resources for specific causes, ranging from books for government schools to disaster relief funds. Your participation, even small, makes a difference.
↗ Contribute Directly

Three Ways to Engage.

Networking Hour isn't passive. Come with curiosity and leave with purpose.

👂 Step 01
Listen & Learn
Walk around the forum. Hear directly from the people running these initiatives: what they're fighting for, what they've achieved, and what they still need. Knowledge is always the first step.
Step 02
Sign Up & Volunteer
Most organisations at the Networking Hour are actively looking for volunteers, interns, and contributors. Express interest on the spot, as many have sign-up sheets, WhatsApp groups, or direct contacts ready.
💡 Step 03
Start Something
Leave with ideas. Talk to other delegates about causes they care about. Networking Hour has been the starting point for several student-led initiatives that started as a conversation at a conference.
Why it Matters

Oakridge MUN has
always believed in
impact beyond the gavel.

From Community Outreach to Networking Hour, every event in our conference is designed with a purpose larger than debate. We believe the best delegates don't just argue well. They act.
